Kaveri Khullar is the Marketing Director for Mastercard Southeast Asia. In this very recent appointment, Kaveri takes care of consumer marketing for Mastercard in Southeast Asia, bolstering the brand’s equity in a highly disrupted and competitive financial technology world.
Prior to this, she was the Head of Marketing Innovation for Global Johnnie Walker Reserve, Diageo’s super premium Scotch portfolio. In this role, she delivered a reframed marketing and communication strategy for the premium variants for Diageo’s flagship Scotch brand through global campaigns, digital content, partnerships with lifestyle brands and a highly performance focused media first approach to consumer recruitment. Prior to her global role at Diageo Singapore, she led the charge of setting up Diageo’s premium spirits vertical in India, delivering category leadership in a span of two years in super-premium Scotch and Vodka. Subsequently, she was handed the mandate of consolidating and turning around a highly fragmented international spirits portfolio to outperform competition in all key battlegrounds. Before she left India, the portfolio called ‘Reserve’ had become the strongest performing business unit for the market with a best practice growth model.
From managing a wide range of international and domestic artists in her 7 years at EMI Virgin to working with the finest and most coveted spirits brands in the world, her trajectory has been anything but conventional. What has however remained constant over these 16 + years is her quest for new and challenging frontiers, her passion for delivering against stretch performance goals and the knack of failing fast to come back stronger. When not pushing limits in the boardroom, Kaveri is challenging herself outdoors. Her most recent endeavour was a successful summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and one day, she hopes to have a story to tell, of resilience and of embracing the crazy as she eyes the other six peaks.
